For conformal cooling with high water flow rates
BFMOLD® technology
BFMOLD® technology enables conformal cooling of the mold with high water flow rates. Only the areas of the mold close to the cavity are heated, so that heating and cooling can be carried out very fast and with low energy consumption. BFMOLD® can be integrated into the mold concepts for a wide range of molded parts, but also be limited to critical areas.
Advantages of the BFMOLD® technology:
- No joint lines visible on the outside
- Perfect high-gloss surfaces or fine structures
- Improvement of surface quality, e.g. for fiber-reinforced plastics and physically foamed parts
- Elimination of flow lines
- Prevention of sink marks and warpage
BFMOLD® equipment
The VARIOTHERM process is precisely controlled by using specially adapted WITTMANN temperature control units. Neither joint lines nor sink marks are visible. The parts precisely mirror the polished high-gloss surface of the mold cavity wall.
